I like this song. This is one of the first Spanish songs that I have memorized solely thru listening. My friend Ron copied all of the Spanish songs that he had from his computer to my usb and this song was one of them and it quickly became my favorite.

I don’t know but this track just sounds very cool for me. I cannot even review it since like what I said before these songs are really not my forte, Rock is.

This song is basically about a “cheeky” woman (form the name “Descarada”) and it is the main song of the Mexican telanovela, Rubi – a story of a pretty, sexy, social climbing b¡tch. Men (betas) go crazy for her only to have their hearts broken. But the one who played Rubi is really a solid 10 though here she is:

Descarada = Lots of FACE

Yes, descarada means a lot of face; you can even say “mucha cara”. They basically annotate “descarada” to people who are a bit mischievous but still attractive. It’s basically the “bad boy syndrome” but of course it could also apply to women.

Now for the “letras” and translations:

Es una descarada por ser la más hermosa (She is a cheeky girl because she is the most beautiful)
No tiene casi nada pero le gusta la vida cara (Has nothing, almost nothing but she desires the expensive life)
Y a mí me gusta ella y sé cuanto me ama (and for me I like her and I know how much she loves me)
Sé que sueña conmigo pero amanece en otra cama (I know that she dreams about me but she wakes up in another bed)

El dinero le robó su corazón (The money stole her heart)
Las mentiras le desalmaron el alma (the lies unsoiled her soul/ removed/ruined her soul)
Y me duele su dolor mucho más que su traición (and I feel greater pain for hers more than her betrayal)
Yo nací para quererla aunque se vaya  (I was born to love her although she left)

CHORUS:
Mujer de nadie, mujer de todos, mujer que mata (everyone’s girl, nobody’s girl, woman that kills)
Mujer que duele, mujer que entrega y te arrebata (woman that hurts, woman that gives only to take away)
Mujer tan cara, mujer ingrate (expensive woman, ungrateful woman)
Sé que no me olvidaras aunque te vayas (I know you won’t forget me even though you left)
Yo sé que no me olvidaras aunque te vayas

En mi cartera guardo su foto recatado (in my wallet I keep a small photo of her)
Es mi mayor fortuna y mi desdicha la descarada (she’s my greatest fortune and misfortune, the cheeky woman)
Yo seguiré mi rumba, el mundo no se acaba (I will go on with the rumba (with my life), the world is not going to end)
Esta vida es muy corta, te cobra y te paga (this life is too short, will charge you and will pay you)

Mujer tan cara, mujer ingrata
Sé que no me olvidaras aunque te vayas…descarada

Mujer de nadie, mujer de todos, mujer que mata
Mujer que duele, mujer que entrega y te arrebata
Mujer tan cara, mujer ingrata

Sé que no me olvidaras aunque te vayas
Yo sé que no me olvidaras aunque te vayas
Yo sé que no me olvidaras aunque te vayas
